A pt age 8 yrs.complaining of inability to close d rt eye partially from today.Had itching of eye sinc yesterday.And drooping of water from rt corner of mouth. Construction work z going at home.living in colder region. probably d symptoms of belz's palsy (partial) if any other .reason .Plz tell the etiology dx nd rx.

It's bell's palsy. If you are still confused,then perform these tests- 1. Ask the pt. To look up and if you don't notice wrinkles on the forehead, then it's bell's palsy as normal people gets wrinkles on forehead while looking up. 2. Ask the pt to whistle, a pt. With bell's palsy can't whistle. 3. Ask the pt. To blow out cheeks, a pt. With bell's palsy will not be able to do so. 4. Ask the pt to close her eyes as tight as possible, and you try to open the affected eye with your hands, if the eye opens, it's bell's palsy. Treatment - It is a self limiting condition. Will correct itself by 2-3 months. Till then, certain measures are to be taken like - 1. Ask the pt to wear black goggles on eyes. 2. Ask the pt to keep handkerchief with her for cleaning the saliva. 3. Corticosteroids are prescribed. 4. If it is due to viral infection, then medicines to be prescribed accordingly.
Do facial exercises... physiotherapy and facial massage with olive oil

Bells palsy. Steroids for a month in tapering dose as per weight, preferably prednisolone. Miosol drops for eye and goggles to avoid dryness and itching, vit b12 inj or tab
It's Rt bells palsy. Go for US pulse mode at the sternomastoid region with galvanic stimulation of the facial muscles. Facial muscle exercises very important. Wear black goggles to protect eyes from sunlight. Keep clean handkerchief to clean eyes.
Dx : RIGHT SIDE BELLS PALSY. ETIOLOGY : INFLAMATORY CONDITIONS LIKE : VIRAL INFECTIONS. EXPOSURE TO COLD BREEZE. CNS LESIONS. EAR INFECTIONS. RX : ACYCLOVIR, PLUS STERIODS, & PHYSIOTHERAPY. ACCORDINGLY.
Physiotherapy should do in this case for earlier recovery and if you start the treatment from d first day of the case then it will take only 21 days to cure. Hurry. Refer the patient to Physiotherapy.

Antibiotic eye drops to prevent infection. Rest. Short course of steroids. Most important is physiotherapy to prevent residual paresis.
Rt facial palsy LMN Prednisolone B complex Physiotherapy, nerve stimulation after acute phase
Physiotherapy will be helpful-electrical stimulation, massage, exercises apart from drug therapy.
