10 years old female present with hair loss and changes in nail past 5 years. Hair loss and grow after 3 months. Is it autoimmune? Diagnosis and treatment

This is alopecia areata associated with nail pitting...Rx --Lesion < months-observe...Single few lesions more than 6 months-topical steroid..topical minoxidil 2.5 %....ya phr topical PUVA...Oral steroid.. methylprednisolone 4 mg ..bd for 5 days then 1/2 bd for 5 days then stop..oral immunosuppressive methotrexate 15 mg or azathioprine once a week....and most important onion massage is very good in this disease..in recalcitrant desease-Wigs

Cap. Itraconazole 200 Od Tab. Methylprednisolone 4 bd tapping dose Cap. Evion od Cap. Lycosyl od Crm. Luliciconazole if not better recovery then minoxidil used

alopecia areata . intralesional steroids best . minoxidil to apply locally . zinc orally . nail findings are consistent with iron deficiency anemia . supplement with oral iron too .
