Hypothyroidism

10 yr old child c/o weight gain Weight 57 kg.. Normally active and fair in studies.no other symptoms of hypothyroid seen . Mother on thyroxine 75mcg for hypothyroidism

Both the reports done on 2 different days & at 2 different labs with different methods are contradictory to each other. Weight gain of this child may not be due to Hypothyroidism but may be due to the wrong food habits and lack of physical exercise. Advise lifestyle modifications & repeat TFT as FT3, TT3, FT4, TT4 n TSH after 2-3mths. Aggressive treatment on this should be avoided.

Ruleout thyroiditis...& repeat Ft4, TSH at different laboratory... USG thyroid gland.
