Both, Bicuspid Aortic Valve is associated with coarctation and aortopathy that may result in Aortic aneurysm, dissection or rupture. Marfan syndrome is a heritable disorder of fibrillin 1 gene, which encodes the connective tissue protein fibrillin 1. The connective tissue disorder leads to abnormalities of the Aortic Wall , causing progressive Aortic dilatation, thus increasing the risk of acute Aortic Dissection.
