ACANHOSIS NIGRICANS. Local hyperpigmentation disorder with thick velvet skin.Remarkably prevalent in obese and high BMI cases. Indicator of diabetic or prediabetic state. Hyperinsulinaemia triggers faster and more production of pigmented thick skin. Other relevant endocrinology abnormalities may also be looked for. Reduction of weight and detection of hormone imbalances will be helpful in appropriate treatment of this condition. In case of children this can be a predictor in expecting type 2 DM in middle age.
