Recently I admitted a young female age 27 with recent onset of fever few days back and difficulty in standing from 5 to 6 days. ON examination SHE was febrile and general examination was normal but she was not able to put weight on leg on right side and SLR test was positive. With no other joint involvement . No obvious history of trauma was given but she gave history of strenuous exercise in the past week. Flexion at hip was compromised and pain was radiating to gluteius muscle and knee on right side. NOT ANY positive history for arthritis was given . Other systemic examination was normal. She was admitted and investigation was done which revealed leucocytosis low hemoglobin and esr was markedly raised. Chest Xray was normal, RA factor was normal urine R/m was showing increased pus cells .Ultrasound abdomen was normal. Mri hip joint was showing hip joint effusion of right side with fluid accumulation in muscle mass. A provisional diagnosis of pyomyositis was kept and she was put on broad-spectrum antibiotics , Nsaid and other supportive drugs.

Yes sir , myosotis can cause weakness of muscles. muscles. Weakness, swelling, and pain are the most common symptoms. Myositis causes include infection, injury, autoimmune disease and drugs. Myositis symptoms after exercise or injury nearly always resolve completely with rest and treatment. To confirm diagnosis one can do EMG NCV study CPK total Rx NSAIDS Steroids- high dose Immunosuppressant Adequate hydration
