RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN COVID-19 & ENDOTHELIAL CELL INJURY & COAGULOPATHY

Dear my friends and fellow Colleagues, Here is an update on COVID-19 and Endothelial Cell Injury. Endothelial cell injury plays major role in Pathogenesis of COVID-19 associated coagulopathy. Blood levels of soluble Thrombomodulin correlate very well with mortality. Prothombotic state occurs early in course of disease & becomes more pronounced with worsening severity of infection. A study at EHA Congress, June, 2020 EHA European Heart Association Regards and thanks, Dr Sepuri Krishna Mohan

What is the role of high ferritin levels in the coagulopathy of covid pathogenesis
Dear Dr Manohar Rao, Role of High Ferritin levels in Coagulopathy in COVID19. Ferritin is a key mediator of immune Disregulation especially under extreme Hyperferritenemia via direct immune suppressive and pro inflammatory effects contributing to the CYTOKINE STORM. High Ferritin levels indicate the presence of Virus and Bacteria in the body. Recent studies by Italian Scientists have shown that Ferritin is able to activate macrophages which play a critical role in Innate Immunity the bodies first Defense Mechanism. So High Ferritin levels is a bad marker for poor prognosis in COVID 19. Regards and thanks, Dr Sepuri Krishna Mohan
