5 MONTHS POSTPARTUM MOTHER WITH MENSTRUAL ABNORMALITIES

25 Yrs / Female 5 months postpartum. Having a breastfeeding girl baby. Complaints of mid cycle bleeding PV with normal flow and without clots. Duration of flow is 3-4 days in each. -Is it normal Prolactin level in 5 months postpartum? -Is Cabergolin safe in mother who has breastfeeding baby? -How to manage this case?

Nothing abnormal...Except Hyperprolacttenimia. It can be due to Nipple stimulation and lactation. Stress should be taken care of. Hypothyroidism....Drug-Induced Hyperprolactinemia..Should be considered.

But sir isn't it normal Prolactin level in 5 months postpartum?

Normal event as some case we do see early resumption of menstrual cycle Yes hyper prolactin levels by any standard I feel cabergolin can be used safely

Do you mean that she has bleeding pv in between her normal menes? Prolactin is in normal range as pt is lactating.

Cycles to be regularised by giving oral contraceptive pills for 3 cycles. This will suffice

Which OCP to be chosen ? She is a lactating mother.

Upto 100,prolectin in breast feeding is normal. No need of cabegalin

But sir Prolactin level falls once the menstruation is resumed.

As she is menstruating,prolectin level will keep on falling

No need to intervene medically. Every thing is going fine

No any problem bleeding also normal
