Physiotherapy plays a major role in COCCYDYNIA..... including ultrasonic therapy, pelvic floor muscle exercises..... Specific pillow cushions are available during sitting... NSAIDS, Muscle relaxants are useful... In severe cases local INJ of steroid should be helpful.

-Rest and stop any physical activity that causes pain. - Ice your tail bone for 10-15 min 4 times a day -NSAIDs -sit on gel donut cushion -Eat food high in fiber. - Ultrasound massage followed by SWD for 2 weeks .
Physiotherapy approach Stretching of tight muscles around hip, soft tissue release, US therapy, sacral mobilization, cervicothoracic mobilization to active sympathetic nervous system for healing.

No specific and effective treatment for coccydynia. Coccydynia usually idiopathic no reason is found Sometime coccydynia result from trauma. In traumatic coccydynia if it is not complicated with pain during defaecation which is due to pressure by the fractured fragment causing pressure on rectum.requires some interference with good result. But idiopathic coccydynia does not require any treatment it passed of its own. If persists To use cushion to sit on Analgesic Ultra sonic ray application Inj hydrocortisone with 2% xylocaine local infiltration some times good result.
Treatment usually consists of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) -- such as ibuprofen and naproxen -- to reduce inflammation (swelling), and the use of a therapeutic sitting cushion to take the pressure off the tailbone when sitting.
Coccydynia IF there is degeneration involved in this case along with vatahara chikitsa, bahya snehan swedan tiktaksheera basti can be tried
