MDR TUBERCULOSIS

Like other bacterial pathogens, Mycobacterium tuberculosis—the bacterium that causes TB—has developed resistance to antibiotic treatments over time via chromosomal mutations that protect the organism against the action of the drugs Among aminoglycosides, kanamycin or amikacin is the first choice of an injectable agent, given the high rates of streptomycin resistance in drug-resistant TB. In addition, both these agents are inexpensive, cause less otoxicity than streptomycin, and have been used extensively for the treatment of drug-resistant TB.

Sir, I usually use to order Sputum for AFB and Sputum for Genxpert MTB/RiF( this test only tells about rifampicin resistance) Like to know about sensitivity to other drugs, which test can I order?
