a 30 yr old patient came to the hospital with a complaint of sudden painless loss of vision in one eye. Prior to loss of eye sight, the patient has appearance of floating black spots in the field of vision. what could be diagnosis and is the vision loss permanent?

Optic Neuritis / Papillophlebitis, check BP, check IOP, treat with IV Methyl Prednisolone infusion in DNS or RL for 3 consecutive days followed by oral prednisolone for 2 weeks then taper. Injection Vitamin B1, B6, B12, methyl coblamine, calcium pentothenate IM stat & repeat alternate day. Take history related with mustard oil use to rule out 'Epidemic Dropsy'. Also rule out hidden Multiple sclerosis & Neuromyelitis Optica by ordering MRI Brain & Spine
