Please give details of swelling whether soft, hard, firm or cystic. Adherence to underlying or overlying tissue. Local signs of inflammation. Any investigations done.

Please describe the swelling. Sift ,firm ,hard.? Dimensions? Moves freely or adherent to underlying structure? Plane of the swelling, subcutaneous, etc ? Reducible, compressible, bruits? Tender, non tender, fluctuant? This will help you to arrive at a reasonable diagnosis, without resorting to US every time.

Looks like lipoma . Go for usg of the swelling to confirm the diagnosis .

Lipoma /Dermoid cyst Excision and stitch and send for BIOPSY

Do USG Aspiration

Do simply aspiration in the clinic and according to the aspirate, investigate further in the form of USG or MRI and obviously send the aspirate for examination
