6yr old female child wd h/o fever and cough since 2days ,after which these rashes occured on 3rd day along with inflammation and itching .pls gv dx and rx
Absolutel not sir. It is just an exanthemaroush rash..if itching u can give a soothing lotion like caladry all over the affected areas. It is a self limiting disease , just watch the baby and treat symptomatically. No antibiotic ointment please.

It's Fifth disease or Erythema infectiosum,a highly contagious ailment,caused by Parvovirus B19.The main distinctive feature is Slapped cheek face The disease is mild requires no Rx except Paracetamol if high fever. In Pregnant women,infection in First Trimester has been linked to hydops fetalis,& miscarriages.
