Concluded Case

Renal Failure.

70 yr old patient with raised S. Creat(5.2)& S.Urea(121) Not a K/C/O HTN,T2DM, CAD. Clinically only weakness.Rest NAD. USG ABDOMEN + KUB study is Normal. Patient is taking keto analogues Tab Ketoadd Other than Heamodialysis and renal transplant, is there any medical Rx to correct it? What are the further investigations required and management?

Creatinine 5.2 and converted blood urea nitrogen is 56 BUN / S. Creatinine ratio is 10:1 This may indicate that a part of raised creatinine level is because of prerenal type of renal failure, therefore part of it can be reversible Adv Look for infection, as infection is commonest cause of prerenal type of renal failure Please do complete blood count, urine routine and culture, procalcitonin, CRP level

Tab ketoadd is used for chronic kidney failure. Why he is taking? Old age paranchymal renal failure? Go for ct abdomen for any renal artery pathology. Consult nephrologist
