Why low osmolarity iodinated compounds are preffered in contrast studies?

LikeAnswersShare
Reasons are: 1. They more iso osmolar to the blood. 2. They have high I:p ratio..this serves the purpose of using them as contrast with more attenuation and less osmolarity 3. They have less adverse effect like hypersomolarity. 4. They have lower incidence of contrasr induced nephropathy (CIN)
