What is it? Allergy or Mosquito borne illness?

35 year old male with no past medical history, he thought it was a mosquito bite in the calf area. Area quickly progressed to purplish raised and flat rash that is very itchy, has intermittent tingling and sensitive to hot and cold. Smaller rash began appearing on torso, arms, palms and feet next day. Patient has no known allergies, all vitals normal and no joint pain, no respiratory symptoms, no other complaints . Benadryl and 40 mg of Prednisone has not improved the symptoms. Allergy? Mosquito borne illness? Please give your valuable opinion.
