What is gestational thrombocytopenia...share your clinical experience plz

Gestational thrombocytopenia is mild one occurs during the third trimester with spontaneous resolution postpartum and no neonatal thrombocytopenia. This is normal and platelets Rarely fall below 80×109/l. This condition may need steroid treatment .Folate rich foods are advised to increase blood platelets

Decrease PLATELETS count below 1500000 is called gestational thrombocytopenia. With in first trimester it happens normally but there are various cause Viral diseases, hepatitis b, VITAMIN DEFICIENCY, If taking heparin warfarin Ecosprin sulpha drug anti convulsing drugs, etc
Gestational thrombocytopenia is normal during third trimester It goes automatically Rull out other causes Such as Viral Torch Megaloblastic anemia
Agree with dr Vipin Bihari Jain Platelets count goes down 1.50lacks in third trimester and recovers postpartum

Babies born with TORCH group of infection Mother is acase of idiopathic thrombocytopenia
