C. Trousseau's sign in latent tetany.. Trousseau sign of latent tetany is a medical sign observed in patients with low calcium. Trousseau's sign is carpopedal spasm caused by inflating the blood-pressure cuff to a level above systolic pressure for 3 minutes...which can be caused by hypocalcemia, hypomagnesemia and metabolic alkalosis. A positive Trousseau sign is seen in 1%–4% of healthy people.
