A 14yr old boy presented to the emergency department with a 24 hr history of increase abdominal pain. The pain localized to the right iliac fossa and a diagnosis of acute appendicitis was made.At operation the appendix was found to be normal and the anomaly shown..was found to be loop of bowel.diagnose?

Typical case of meckel's diverticulum mimicking as acute appendicitis. That is why during Appendicectomy surgery after surgery is complete we always look for last few coils of terminal ileum for incidental finding of meckel's diverticulum

Typical picture of Meckel's Diverticulum It can often mimic acute appendicitis hence was operated for it. Management would be diverticulotomy/resection & anastomosis.

Meckeldiverticulitis should be in DD of acute appendicitis and mysentery lymphadenitis in children
