A case of caecal perforation with bolus obstruction due to ascariasis and ruptured liver abscess - nicely presented by Dr Ankit Sahu in Experts Insights case . It was an acute surgical emergency. - well operated in time,- but beware of any faecal fistula- which may occur after Primary closure of caecum.. Follow up after surgery is important. Congratulations-,Dr Sahu for saving an important life

Nice presentation and management of case.Is liver absecess rupture and perforation of caecum due to round worm are entirely seperate entity coming simultaneously or had some link of causing liver absecess?

Probably separate entity, but due to same cause i.e. chronic alcoholism, which might have led to severe amoebiasis in early days, later amoebic typhilitis and liver abscess. Because these patients have poor hygiene, they are prone to amoebiasis and even ascariasis. Liver ascariasis is also one of the cause on liver abscess. It is little difficult to point out the cause of liver abscess as ascariasis or amoebiasis, but the caecal perforation was most probably caused due to amoebic typhylitis (caecal amoebic ulcers)
