A eight month old child came with swelling and blue patch on it on right cheek with multiple ecchymotic patches all over body Child is afebrile Tlc is markedly raised platelets are within normal limits ITP is ruled out how do we proceed
multiple eechymotic spots on whole body . best was to handle it is by giving vit k n fresh frozen plasma transfusion . if not available give whole fresh blood transfusion . why tlc is so high . do crp blood c/s . prothrombin time n activated partial promthrombin time . it definitely not malaria . theres no fever too . plus chances of intracranial bleed in these type of cases are high . keel a watch on it . my diagnosis late onset hemorrhagic disease of newborn . though it usually present upto 6 months of age .
Go for coagulation profile nd rule late haemorrhagic disease of infancy ( vitamin k deficiency) if both PT ND ptt raised Other possiblity hemophilia ( isolated prolongation of ptt Nd rule out sepsis with dic

2mo old boy, previously healthy, good body weight, perinatal period all ok. 2 days ago spontaneous bleedings under the skin symmetrically proximal lateral location of both arms and legs. 1 day ago developed big tender nodules under the skin, probably hemorrages. no other findings in status except low grade fever 38.2*C last days. parents no history of coagulopathy. lab: fbc, crp, liver enzymes, pk inr ok. awaiting answer for factor 8,9 and vwf. no mucosal bleeding. any diagnostic suggestions? no suspicion of abuse.
