Simultaneous Rumenotomy and enetrotomy in an across bred HFx cow.

A HF cow of second parity and 8 month pregnancy was presented with history of not taking feed and water since 4 days,sunken eyeballs and bloat. Also animal was not passing dung since 3 days. On exploratory left flank laparotomy rumen and reticular contents were evacuated and reticulo omasal orifice was explored. Nothing was found. On exploratory left flank laparotomy rumen and reticular contents were evacuated and reticulo omasal orifice was explored. Nothing was found. Simultaneously right flank laparotomy was done. Omental layers were teared to take out large intestine and explored. A phytobezoar was causing complete obstruction at ileum which was removed by enterotomy. Next day morning animal voided normal dung and started taking feed. Surgery was performed by Me and Dr Arif @Valepura, Varthur, Bangalore’bangalore
