It's bell's palsy. If you are still confused, then perform these tests- 1. Ask the pt. To look up and if you don't notice wrinkles on the forehead, then it's bell's palsy as normal people gets wrinkles on forehead while looking up. 2. Ask the pt to whistle, a pt. With bell's palsy can't whistle. 3. Ask the pt. To blow out cheeks, a pt. With bell's palsy will not be able to do so. 4. Ask the pt to close her eyes as tight as possible, and you try to open the affected eye with your hands, if the eye opens, it's bell's palsy. Treatment - It is a self limiting condition. Will correct itself by 2-3 months. Till then, certain measures are to be taken like - 1. Ask the pt to wear black goggles on eyes. 2. Ask the pt to keep handkerchief with her for cleaning the saliva. 3. Corticosteroids are prescribed. 4. If it is due to viral infection, then medicines to be prescribed accordingly.

@Brajesh Kumar Accept my blessings. The whole of medicine and allied subjects are filled up with terms and names Say, tarsal glands are called Meibomian glands. We have the option to use either one of them. Bell's palsy is due to an acute inflammation of the facial nerve within the stylomastoid foramen, named after Sir Charles Bell, 1774- 1842. So anybody can certainly use the broad term facial paralysis or 7 th cranial nerve palsy.

Antibiotic eye drops to prevent infection. Rest. Short course of steroids. Most important is physiotherapy to prevent residual paresis.

Physiotherapy should do in this case for earlier recovery and if you start the treatment from d first day of the case then it will take only 21 days to cure. Hurry. Refer the patient to Physiotherapy.
