20 yr old girl,married life 7/12,complained of a small boil on the right labia majors. it was like a pustule.I gave tab cefuroxime 250 mg twice a day .she came today with this lesion. oedema of labia majora and the earlier pustule is ulcerated with a sharp edge.VDRL,HIV,HbS Ag HCG of both husband and wife are negative. what can be the possible diagnosis and management.


It seems to be a case of Ruptured Bartholian abscess .needs investigation like cell culture, Enzyme immunoassay IGg IG m ,PCR. along primary tests. Choice of antibiotics doxycycline,/erythromycin/azithromycin. Partner must be screen & treated. A patient with one STD is likely to have another & hence screening for other STDs & HIV is essential of both.
She is a case of STD. Treat with doxycycline 100mg twice a day for 14days Tab metrogyl 400mg tds for 5days Tab enzomac forte twice a day for 5 days. Think of LGV, chancroid
Seems tone Chancroiid only. Adv CBC,vdrl,HIV. H/o the pts husband as well.

Barthoolin abscess rupture at mucosal area. So it is STD Canchriod 14 days dose of antibiotics Azithromycin 500 BD Metrogyl 400 BD Chymoral fort 1 TDS before food
It seems to be the case of Chancroid.. Azithromycine 1 gm as Single dose. or Erythromycin 500 mg base three times a day for seven days.
