Most doctors agree that the benefits of the vaccine for people with chronic kidney disease at any stage, those on dialysis, and kidney transplant recipients are much greater than the risk of serious disease or complications from COVID-19.

CKD patients SHOULD take COVID vaccination as they represent the most vulnerable group of patients with many comorbidities and also frequent contact with health care for hemodialysis. However, most patients receive a small dose of heparin during dialysis and so there is a risk of hematoma formation with intramuscular injection. Better to take vaccine on the day after dialysis
