It is very commonly encountered in day to day laboratory medicine results. Causes are.. Improper timing and non adherence to proper times while giving blood samples.. (8hs overnight fast.. for fbs. Exactly 2hrs from beginning of 75 gms glucose orFULL MEAL) Inadequate meal Overfasting.. stimulates neoglucogenesis.. thus may raise fbs Drug effect.. oral antidiabetics and insulin Somogyi effect Dawn phenomenon Reactive hypoglycemia Insulinoma Heavy exercise.. having insulin like effect.. may lower ppbs Delayed gastric emptying Glycemic variability.

NB.. Fbs... depends on liver(glucostat) Ppbs.... depends on pancreas.

In the initial stage of diabetes, this happens fasting sugar is normal and later on pp starts increasing. May be hyperinsulinism causing such effects. Secondly biological clock and other hormone may affect the effect.

This situation can happen if stone patient is only on short acting insulin and there is no basal insulin added Short acting insulin such as human regular insulin, glulisine, aspart insulin taken before meal will normalise post lunch sugar. But fasting sugar can only be controlled by basal insulin. If there is no basal insulin is used there will be fasting hyperglycemia.

Generally, the normal hormonal changes your body makes in the morning will boost your blood sugar, whether you have diabetes or not. If you don't, your body just makes more insulin to balance everything out.

YES. DR... SUGGESTIVE. OF 1. SECONDARY. TO.. SOMOGYI EFFECT 2. FASTING. SUGAR. IS. HIGH BECAUSE.. HORMONES. INDUCE. LIVER. TO. RELEASE. MORE. SUGAR. IN. BLOOD. .....FROM. STORED. DEPOTS. ........OF... CARB... PROTEINS.... FATS... IN. BODY.. 3. WHEN. FOOD. IS. TAKEN.... THEN. INSULIN. IS. RELEASED. IN. BLOOD. TO. MAINTAIN. THE. NORMAL. BLOOD. SUGAR. LEVELS.. SAME. EFFECT. IS. APPLICABLE. IN. CONTEXT. OF. HYPOGLYCEMIC. AGENTS. TAKEN. AFTER. MEALS... ..

DM m/c DM is T2DM so issue related to Insulin In Early stage of DM , FBS - WNL PPBG- ABNORMAL Due to increasing resistance to insulin & fbs normal because overnight glucose has been utilised ... 2nd Condition involved Also depend on diet if you take more Carbs or Fat diet it'll increase blood glucose level If we take Lean protein diet then glucose waste during absorption of protein more than other nutrients ... PPBG depend on diet and Insulin
