In OPD 1.Any patient with open wound, gloves are worn during examination of patient.2 .Use disposable instruments. In the Operating Room : 1 .Operating table is covered with sheet of polythene. 2. Number of operation theatre personnel is reduced. 3 .Staff who enter the OT wear over-shoes , gloves ,water resistant gowns and eye protection. 4 . Double gloves and eye protection -by staff who directly involved with the operation. 4 . Surgical technique :1.Avoid Sharp injury .2 .Prefer scissors to the scalpel. 3.Use skin clips.4 .Avoid needlestick injuries. 5 . proper autoclaving at the end of surgery. Note :1. AZT- Zidovudine ,Lamivudine and Indinavir should be given for health workers following exposure of susceptible areas to inflected material from AIDS patient .

1.Respect hand hygiene before and after any patient contact or after contact with contaminated items, whether or not gloves are worn. 2.Wear personal protective equipments based on risk assessment and to avoid contact with blood, body fluids, excretions, and secretions. 3.Ensure proper handling of patient-care equipment and soiled linen. 4.Prevent needle-stick/sharp injuries.

Abide by universal precautions stringent disinfection protocol to be adopted pre and post procedure ,preferably use disposable instruments, owing to immunocompromised state there may be altered or delayed wound healing, prophylactic antibiotics would be preferable .
If u r not pricked... universal precautions guidelines and if pricked please take HAART...Lamivudine Zidovudine ritonavir...complete sterilization of instruments.
