Cervical Pain
F/52 presented with ongoing pain in her shoulder region which extended to forearm. Initially she took painkillers as she thought it might be due to normal wear and tear of her shoulder muscle. The pain kept increasing and she even went to a (pehalwan) but got no relief. Further it was diagnosed that its cervical pain. The lady experiences ongoing pain in her right shoulder region and she cannot lift any sort of heavy objects ,nor she can raise her arm much. She used all kind of oils, sprays,warm compressions but got no relief. I advised her for some physiotherapy exercise. K/c/o mild hypothyroidism, osteoarthritis, hypertension. There was no peculiar mental symptom nor physical general . Dear drs help me regarding further treatment . History Since last 20 days. It all started after lifting a heavy box. Vitals B.p 132/87 mm Hg Temperature 97.8° F Pulse 78/min Physical Examination Slight swelling and redness in neck (c5- t1 vertebra). Pain while pressing the neck. No lumps were seen on examination . Investigations Cbc was normal X ray of forearm was normal X ray of cervical region showed mild change in vertebra C4 and c5 .The gap between two vertebra has started to increase. PIVD ? Ix MRI cervical spine with whole spine screening Rx - Tab Gaba - NT 1 BD Tab Zerodol MR 1 OD. Vit D Sachet with milk and calcium tab . Physiotherapy . Avoid pillow in supine position use pillow while lateral position. Avoid weight lift Avoid prolonged walking and standing . First down your leg while standing from laying position ,not stand directly which cause stress in neck . Do cervical isometric exercise and back strengthening exercises . Reduce weight.
