Circumcision

Circumcision was done in 45 days baby. For pain ,can PCM+IBUPROFEN combination be given or just PCM drops is sufficient?

AS IBUPROFEN.. NOT..INDICATED.. BELOW SIX MONTHS OF AGE.. PCM..IS EFFECTIVE.. & ..USEFUL..

Actually circumcision is not mandatory below 2 1/2 year! as per Nelson texts ! It is only pinpoint prepucial meatus ! If at it is done by ped surgeon,no issues however ,no brufen at this age and of course during Covid crisis' ! Only short course of post antibiotics with para in appropriate doses for 5days with appropriate post surgical care......

ibuprofen is known to cause gastritis n gi bleed . though we still use it in closure of pda in newborn . paracetamol is still the safest n will alwayas b . give amoxiclav to provide cover for bacterial infection and check if the newborn has recieved dpt vaccine

As the aetomephen is mainly antipyretic Poor antiinflamatory So mefenmic acid .can use for 1 to 2 day Then cont pcm

It's safe to use paracetamol Avoid ibuprofen - because of fear of nephrotoxicity

Amoxy plus para sy 2 ml bd Daily dressing

Only pcm is enough for this

Ibuprofen > 6 months age
