Condition on right thigh..

Condition present on right thigh. Started with a boil. One year back. Mild itching. Present only at one site. Patient is a 60 year old male with thin body built.

It's an auto immune di order known as Pyoderma Gangriosum. An inflammatory skin disease where painful pustules or nodules become ulcers that progressively grow. Pyoderma gangrenosum is not infectious. Treatments may include corticosteroids, ciclosporin, infliximab, or canakinumab.. Infliximab and adalimumab have been most successful. Antibacterial agents such as Dapsone may also be administered. In some people, surgical treatment of the underlying disorder such as ulcerative colitis has alleviate symptoms of pyoderma gangrenosum.
