Corneal opacity.

Paracentral corneal opacity ( macula Type) following healing of viral keratitis ( Right eye). It appears that in addition to antiviral therapy prescribed in our OPD, the patient used some home remedy ( warm saline water) in right eye, that might have worsened the outcome.

As we understand it is post viral keratitis healed as opacity What is being expressed by experts seems to be more confusing than solution What is logical to do in this situation Is keratoplasty will be right step We have to save and improve his vision

IN VIRAL KERATITIS MORE THAN THE USE OF WARM SALINE WATER IT IS INGEDECIOUS USE OF TOPICAL STEROIDS WHICH CAN CAUSE HEVOC IN VIRAL KERSTITIS ONE CAN GET GEORAPHICAL ULCER OR SILENT PERFORATION OF CORNEA WITH USE OF STERIOD IN VIRAL KERATITIS

Thanks for replying, Sir. I took a careful history and use of steroids was denied.

Apart from our presumption if we focus on present problem of corneal opacity... Moxicilline drop..& Steroid very four hours for 4 days. And consult the Opthalmic / Ratinal surgeon.

Macular corneal opacity if this is fresh and disciform we can add low dose steroid drops along with antiviral ointment , If it is permanent may need penetrating keratoplasty
