CV JUNCTION ANOMALY: A CHALLENGING TERRITORY

did a very complicated difficult surgery of trans oral excision of odontoid top with anterior decompression of cervicomedullary junction..14/m, fell at school, lost consciousness, became conscious with total quadruplegia.. poor respiratory reserve... typical history, imaging revealed extreme changes of basilar imagination.... challenging risky case... patient is fully conscious and moving all limbs well 3-4 power post op with the grace of God

cv junction anomaly is a complex entity.. no single surgical method is the gold standard...one has to titrate each case on individual merits and personal skills and take decision. many cases require multiple surgeries.
