D/Dx of LMN type facial palsy in a teenager.

Rx 1.rason sura 10ml ashwagandharishta 15ml after meals with water 2.bla tail abhyang 3.shuddha hing 300mg saindhav namak 1gm morning with mashbladi kwatha 4.thereafter followed 'pakshavadh' chikitsa

Rx 1) Corticosteroid 1ml/kg/days for 7 days 2) Acyclovir 800mg (5 dividing dose ) (use within 72 hrs of palsy) for 5 days 3) Eye protection - tear drop & goggle 4) Physiotherapy Assessment of pt after 7 days if not treated then 7 days again Steriod + physiotherapy + eye protection assessment after 7 days even though not well go for ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL testing such as ELECTROMYOGRAPHY check for Prognosis if prognosis well then give Electrophysiotherpy (current ) If bad prognosis then go for Sx decompression of facial nerve

Tab Medrol 8 mg bd Physiotherapy Put goggles for 21 days

D/d IDIOPATHIC BELLY PALSY RAMSAY HUNT SYNDROME ORIOFACIAL SYNDROME (M R SYNDROME) TEMPORAL FACTURE PALSY

This can be SOL at lateral inferior pons causing such presentation.
