Dear Dr Vishak Hussain, SGLT2 Inhibitors are the srugs of choice for those patients with established ASCVD or at risk of ASCVD. Adequate Hydration is required for those patients on SGLT2 Inhibitors to avoid dehydration which is a side effect of SGLT2 Inhibitors because they act like Osmotic Diuretics. SGLT2 Inhibitors are indicated in any age group whether male or female but must be thoroughly counselled against maintenance of Genito Urinary Hygiene and Adequate Hydration to avoid Dehydration and Euglycemic DKA and Genito Urinary Infections. Recurrent problematic Genito Urinary Infections is an indication to stop SGLT2 Inhibitors. Regards and thanks, Dr Sepuri Krishna Mohan
