Diagnose the sign
A 35-year-old, with this sign in his left arm. It was rapidly ascending (1day of evolution) after a nail got injured in the same arm. What is this sign called and what is the probable germ causing this problem? Patient was also having crimples in this arm. We started Amoxicillin+clavulanate and he got better after a few days. Can you diagnose it?
Ac.Linear Lymphangitis. It is a clinical diagnosis made in the febrile patient with tender, linear red streaking that extends proximally from a site of peripheral infection or traumatic inoculation.. Lymphangitis is an infection of the lymph vessels that carry lymphatic fluid throughout the body. Lymphangitis usually requires antibiotic treatment. Skin infections are the most common cause of lymphangitis. The body's lymph fluid and the lymphatic system help a person to fight infections. It is generally a type of secondary infection, which means it happens because of another infection.

A male patient aged around 65 years presented with the history of swelling of the left feet for the past 6 years . Initially there was a temporary on and off relief in the swelling but for the last 2 year's it is permanent. O/E Swelling of the left feet present Non pitting edema present Kaposi- stemmer sign present( inability to pinch the skin of the 2 nd toe) Skin surface is thickened with multiple nodules and verrucous growths No discharge present Vien's above the swelling appear swollen Foul smell present Swelling of the left inguinal lymph nodes( nontender, discreet) present General examination- Normal Inv- Complete blood count, renal , HIV and hepatic test done and they're normal I have sent for biopsy KINDLY GIVE YOUR OPINION
