First aid Depends on site and degree of bite As earliest as possible wash and clean the wound under running tap for at least 15 to 20 mts Dry the wound and never stitch Dress with proper antibiotics oint or antiseptics Better if active Anti rabies vaccine could be infiltrated and rest given intramuscular a course of passive immunization inj ARV for minimum 5 doses irrispective of site and depth of bite Orally broadspectrum antibiotics Antiinflamatory

It depends on whether the dog was domestic or street dog. Where did he bite grading of bite. Take bitten part n wash in running tap water using antiseptic soap. Anti rabies vaccine 0 3 7 14 28 days total 5. Watch the dog if it shows symptoms of rabies. If no symptoms even after 14 days even 3 doses are enough. Don't suture the wound. Give an antibiotic like amoxiclav to cover pasteurella n streptococcus. Analgesics round the clock.

Inj TT 0.5ml I'm stat Throughly clean wound with diluted betadine lotion,H2O2 and NS . Complete hemostasis achieved. Betadine lotion locally and remain wound open if area is large covered with sterile gauge. Inj Raipur 0,3,7,14 and 28 days. Antibiotics and analgesic ORALLY. Multivitamin and antioxidant orally. In case local infiltration of ARV can be useful . Reassurance and counciling required.

Position of bite permits , was it under running tap water 15 minutes. Allow it to dry. Aseptic dressings. Anti rabis vaccination .....Five IM i jections of Rabipur.

If it is a 3rd degree bite... Immunoglobulin should be given around the wound and remaining in the alternate buttocks and followed by IDRV or ARV... But the first thing to do is clean the wound properly with soap and water under running water...
