1 . Potency selection & repetition of medicine are dealt in posology . 2 . Selection of potency from decimal scale or centesimal scale or high potency depends on susceptibility of the patient , seat of the disease , nature of the disease , type of disease-- acute or chronic, nature of the remedy , treatment strategy( eg : Merc sol high potency to absorb pus and in low potency favours suppuration ) 3 . Decimal or in centesimal scale below 30th are considered as low potencies recommended for cases with more common and particular symptoms. Medicines not well proved are also prescribed in low potencies. Biochemic are used in decimal scale. Idiosyncratic or hypersensitivie patients lower potencies are safe. 4 . Repetition of medicine--Ref : Aph No :246. In acute cases indicated can be repeated frequently. Once improvement is noted medicine can be withdrawn abruptly or in a tapering manner . In chronic cases single dose & wait method common or in multiple doses--when single dose fails to bring out the desired effect. 5 . High potency for cases with marked mental symptoms or in acute cases smaller potencies fail to respond properly high potency in repeated doses allowed . Contraindicated in advanced pathological conditions.

Most puzzling problem for the practitioner is the strength of the medicine to be used so far as i know no guidance has been by and author for the benefit of beginners it is mainly by experience that the practitioner learns which strength of a particular medicine is more effective than the other the determination of dilution depends on the constitution of the patient his nervous temperament his habits & environment for instance in the case of organ remedies small material does act best indeed marvelously such remedies also to be repeated at short intervals on the contrary organ hypertrophies from constitution causes are not curable by infrequently repeated high dilution of the remedies closely homoeopathic thereto as a rule medicines should be used in the low dilution the next higher dilution which is normally used this should be given if the improvement from lower dilution stops or if the remedy is well indecated but the patient does not respond to the lower dilution then go to higher dilution.
Thank you doctor

After the intake of first dose ,watch the effect of medicine, like aggravation or out come of old symptoms,or shifting of disease on lower level if no change after first dose nd if u r sure about the selection of medicine then increase the potency nd repeat the dose
Thank you doctor. Will it remain same irrespective of the potency selection?
