A case of Rifampicin resistant spinal tuberculosis.

38 years business man, complaining low back pain since 6 months back, diagonosed as RIFAMPICIN resistance spinal tuberculosis by FNAC. The patient is being treated with Rifampicin, Isoniazide, Ethambutol and pyrizinamide by standard doses since 3 months back, prescribed by renowned physicians of NIMHANS. Still the disease worsened as suggested by history and MRI. I want to know 1.Is it rational to adminster Rifampicin in a case of Rifampicin resistant case? 2. If not what should be treatment options (dose pls)? 3.Is it necessary/any option for surgical intervention in such active infection?
