Dental Rehabilitation in medically compromised cases .

A patient aged 72 with initial stages of Parkinson’s came to our dept with an existing prosthesis which was unstable in his oral environment . The patient when examined revealed a tongue tie and patient was very realistic psdycholgical patient as he was a retired prof. He very well understood the difficulty in adjusting with the prosthesis due to his medical condition . When examining the existing prosthesis aesthetics , function were affected as their was traumatic occlusion and was bulky which dint allow it to stay in patients oral environment . Tongue tie at this age was accustomed by the patient , dint go for its management with consent from the patient . He was not aware of tongue tie neither the other doc who placed the existing denture 7 years back told him to . So at this point we made the patient confortable and explained about the challenge which we face to form a new denture and trained the patient to accept the treatment . Patient was given a new prosthesis in a weeks time . Rest the pics will tell the story .
