Your question is confusing and not clear. Insulin dose differs from neonates to adults, and type of insulin and mode of administration and in emergency conditions like DKA and HHS. In neonates the dose of regular insulin in 1) continuous iv infusion is 0.01 to 0.1 U / kg/ hour ( starting dose usually 0.05 U / kg / hour) . Titrate infusion rate according to blood glucose response.. Insulin should not be included in daily prescribed fluid total. Insulin should be given in addition to daily fluid intake. 2) Intermittent dose 0.1 to 0.2 U /kg 6 to 12 hourly SC or IM
This kind of order is incomplete order One has to carefully mention type of insulin and it's dose in that particular patient because dose can change from patient to patient
