Female patient aged about 58y came with complaints of pain, redness and blurred vision in left eye since 3 days. Sensitive to light also noted. No H/o fever, lachrymation, cold, Agglutination, etc Patient is non diabetic and Non hypertensive. Is this viral Conjunctivitis?
Within three days of redness , complain of blurred vision can not be explained with viral conjunctivitis, Need to investigate more let the ophthalmologist examine for circum corneal congesion ,KPs, Aques flare, aques cells to rule out uvietis, inflamation in the eye
Examination of preauricular lymphnodes Corneal sensation IOP GONIOSCOPY SLIT LAMP EXAMINATION FUNDUS examination helps to differentiate Acute angle closure glaucoma, acute Iridocyclitis, acute viral conjunctivitis It may not be simple viral conjunctivitis becoz age ,gender mostly going in favour of other differential diagnosis.
One sign that's sensitivity to light will give the diagnosis of iridocyclitis .there is definitive circumcorneal congestion... however examination as already stated by @Dr. Guru Prakash will tell you the exact diagnosis....
D.D :. 1. Acute viral conjunctivitis with superficial punctate keratitis. 2 . Acute iridocyclitis .
Most likely acute anterior uveitis Slit lamp examination is essential.
D/d 1 viral conjunctivitis 2 r/o corneal ulcer 3 iridocyclitis
