GERD induced Esophagitis on UGI Endoscopy
In my personal experience- symptomatic relief is best by Mucaine gel as it contains a local anesthetic also - but for long term healing of mucosal lesions - sucralfate is better As already suggested by you - PPI , Prokinetic ia also to be given Also dietary and life style modifications are important as stress and anxiety are related to GERD .Also dinner at least 2 and half hours before going to bed is important
Etiology of GERD needs to be treated along with symptomatic treatment. Life style modification. Food habits, Use of spicy food,Tobacco, cold drinks, alcohol, smoking aldo are the contributory factors. Sleep pattern including post meal sleep timing, duration and position are also needs to be considered in the counselling. Of course stress management is must. Endoscopy to rule out hiatus hernia, lax esophageal sphincter etc.further management accordingly.
