Guidance on proper management of hyperemesis gravidarum.

hi dr.. hyperemesis gravidarum[HG]:nausea and vomiting r striking features. seen mostly in first trimester.pathogenesis is poorly understood. in second trimester vomiting isnt attributed to HG clinically seen..hyponatraemia,hypokalaemia,thiamine deficiency and other vitamins def vit 6 and b12,malnutrition. in treatment: iv fluids management is important in which normal saline is appropriate. thiamine or multivitamin injections drugs: first line therapy:promethazine,cyclizine,prochlorperazine,doxylamine second line therapy: metocloperamide,domperidone,ondanstron if gastritis or oesophagitis considered then safer to use drugs r ranitidine and omeprazole. if everything fails least been used is corticosteroid.

Anti emetic like Pregnidoxine. Compensate fluid and electrolytes. To reduce the acidic level PPI.
