Gym accident

A 19 year old female was performing some exercise in supine position when suddenly a 5 kg dumbbell fell from a fellow partner onto her abdomen from a height of 1 metre. She has pain abdomen while walking. Is it something serious? What investigation is to be done?

Certainly needs to workout to r/o injury to abdominal organs as hit by weight bluntly Adv usg abdomen Kub to see gas under diaphragm Urine for hematuria Xray chest to see any parenchymal laceration or bony cage injury Keep pt indoor under observation

19/F..case of Abdominal pain.. H/O- blunt traumatic injury. Check her vitals.pulse..bp..RR Look for abd examination. USG abdomen to rule out any Injury to organ.. If everything stable then just Symptomatic therapy..

Blunt abdominal injury Occasionally it can cause Hollow viscus perforation or solid organ injury Adv Clinical examination and sonography of abdomen If on clinical examination there is tenderness and guarding or Sonography shows free fluid in abdomen - then CT scan of abdomen with oral and IV contrast can be done - it will give maximum information

Start with vitals, BP, distention/ guarding of abdomen, get xray abdomen in standing position. Ultrasound of abdomen and urine routine and microscopy to be done

Traumatic Injury. Please check for any external injury or swelling. Do Xray PELVIS and Xray Spine. Usg Abdomen

How she is clinically, do her stable first. See vitals , monitor BP ,RR, P/A any distention,gurdning Investigation Xray abdomen,ct abdomen sos Then routine lab Surgeon openion. Is required. For further management.

Blunt inj ABD. REQ Further evaluation and observation. See if the Abd is Soft. Look for Distension and Air under the diaphragm. Plain xray Abd Erect and U.S. ABD will rule out hollow viscous perforation. If normal can confirm by CT ABD. And proceed Accordingly. Definitely req Admssion and observation for 48 hrs
