he is a 50 yrs old male. has vesicular lesions on his left thigh only fr 4-5 days. as per him, 4 days bak he felt severe burning sensation in his involved area wid eruption of 2-3 vesicles. dere was pain also. aftr 2-3 days many vesicles (as shown in pic) developed, bt burning reduced n pain increases. he also has moderate itching in lesions. n as he reminded, he had episode of chicken pox at age of 8 yrs. he has no h/o recent fever. he has no medical illness. dx n tt???

Herpes Zoster. Oral Acyclovir 800mg 5 times a day for 7 days. Saline compresses. Topical calamine lotion. Mild NSAID for pain. Tab.Gabapentine 100mg.1-3 times daily.

Sir, role of oral steroids is contravarsial. If the person is not diabetic,no peptic acid disease, then to reduce the inflammation in an acute stage,along with oral Acyclovir we can give steroids for a short course.Ofcourse in the absence of sec.bact.infection.

Tab Virovir(Famciclovir) 500 TDS for 7 days, (Start any within 72 hours) Tab Gabaneuron 300/500 TDS + Tab Tegrital 100 BD, then 200 BD Ice application thrice daily followed by Candicalm lotion L/A over the lesions thrice, Maintain hydration Oint B-Bact 2% + Oint Acivir 5% L/A twice daily

Herpes Zoster . Give acyclovir 800 mg five times a day. Along with pain killer and antihistamine. Gabapentin for post herpetic neuralgia and can be given if burning sensation and pain not controlled by NSAIDs ..

H. Zoster. Oral valacyclovir 1gm 3 times a day. Sol.Caladryl LA, tab. Levocetrizine sos for itching, tab Brufen 400 sos.
