local anaesthetic selection

Hello everyone.. my query is regarding the local anaesthetic used in dentistry.. is there any better option than lignocaine for anaesthesia. It is not working for a patient for extraction of a grossly decayed mandibular molar... I tried it thrice in a interval of 3 days everytime.. my first experience in whole practice (of 12yrs)

Check for alcoholism. Alcohol in blood will not let anesthesia do its job.

Articaine for supplemental buccal mandibular infiltration anesthesia in patients with irreversible pulpitis when the inferior alveolar nerve block fails.

Dr.try to use catridge syringe loaded with lidocaine.but before extraction put him an antibiotics for 3 days..so that Peri apical infection will reduce ...so L.A works fastly.. inject intra pulpal also..
