IS Follow up HRCT must in COVID-19 moderate to severe patients

Higher radiation–dose imaging - HRCT CHEST IN COVID-19 PATIENTS Most of the increased exposure in the United States is due to CT scanning and nuclear imaging, which require larger radiation doses than traditional x-rays. A chest x-ray, for example, delivers 0.1 mSv, while a chest CT delivers 7 mSv — 70 times as much. And that's not counting the very common follow-up CT scans. IT means a CT scan delivers 70 times radiations than X - Rays That is why in COVID-19 patients which require HRCT one scan in enough to assess the chest severity score index because treatment depends upon it The follow HRCT should not be done avoid unnecessary radiations in already immunocompromised patient of COVID-19 moderate to severe disease. To assess the progress of the,patient- instead of a follow up CT - other tests should be done like D- Dimer , CRP , LDH, Oxygen saturation levels and MOST IMPORTANT CLINICAL JUDGEMENT WHICH ALAS WE DOCTORS GIVE LITTLE TIME TO IT, NOWADAYS- Considering battery of available investigations at hand

Absolutely true sir It is unnecessary exposure Even simple xray is enough and could be monitored So far CORAD score is concerned nothing much significant even sp02 monitoring can guide us or clinical status is more important for modifying the treatment Clinicopathological work quite enough
