? Hypertrophic Scar

A 76 year old female presented to OPD with complaints of pain occasionally and sensation of discomfort at surgical site while wearing clothes She was given Intralesional Kenacort plus Xylocaine 5 doses, but she took only one dose as she felt discomfort during administration History She underwent Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy and IOC perfomed in May 2017 Management Kindly suggest appropriate treatment for this hypertrophic scar which is non-invasive ?

Keloid Need to check what was the discomfort during intralesional steroid injection. If it is not serious, worthwhile to persuade her to continue intralesional steroids injection. Surgical excision of scar can be considered.

Difference between hypertrophic scar and keloid Hypertrophic scars appear within the borders of surgical site, and tend to grow smaller in time. Keloids expand beyond the surgical site and tend to grow larger In time.
