Lady can get pregnant while nursing. However, many moms experience a time of delayed fertility during breastfeeding. This is very common and is referred to in many places as the Lactation Amenorrhea Method (LAM) of contraception. Lactational amenorrhea refers to the natural postpartum infertility that occurs when a woman is not menstruating due to breastfeeding. The average time for the return of menstrual periods is 14.6 months.. The key player here is the hormone oxytocin, which is responsible for milk production. It actually suppresses the brain from making the main hormone that stimulates the ovary to grow an egg each month that will eventually ovulate with the goal of meeting a sperm.

Period of lactational amenorrhea is variable, depending on the duration of breast feeding . It is usually from 2 months to 6 months . Lady can conceive during lactational amenorrhea .

Yes conception is possible in lactation period which may last 6months to 12 months At times lady may have one scanty cycle and get conceived

Upto 6 month is normal duration of Lactational Amenorrhea and in this period 2% chance for CONCEIVE

6 months usually but can be extended depending upon weaning As in amenorrhea anovulatory cycles persist a lady can’t be pregnant during this time normally
