Late Realisation
A case of oral mass growth with a dreadful personal history Chief Complaints A 43 yr old male patient visits OPD with chief complaint of a irregular growth on his palate, pain, burning sensation, inability to eat since 2 months History History reveals, mass growth aggravated since 3 months, with associated hearing loss-right ear, for the past 1 month. Has difficulty chewing food & spicy edibles. Personal habits reveal, he is a chronic smoker, 15 BIDIS/DAY FOR 20 YRS. Patient is aware of some serious changes occuring in his oral cavity & he visted opd to know wther he got any malignancy? Physical Examination Reveals, Restricted jaw opening. Uncordinated, irregular, cauliflower pattern proliferative mass observed on the hard palate extending towards d soft palate & anterior faucial pillars. submandibular lymphnodes, cervical level ii, iii felt to be firm, fixed & non-tender on palpation. Investigations Advised Biopsy & CT scan- head neck Diagnosis Provisional diagnosis: Suspected malignancy, SCC hard palate Management Referred to, head neck/ OMFS oncosurgery dept. for further evaluation & management
SCC hard palate Confirm by biopsy Chemoradiotherapy to be started
